RAMALLAH (PIC)– The Palestinian Prisoners’ Society said that Ofer military court on Thursday decided to postpone till next week the decision on whether or not to extend the administrative detention of Palestinian lawmaker Sheikh Hasan Yusuf.
Lawyer Jawad Paulus who attended the court said that Yusuf was a well-known Palestinian leader who always expresses stands against the occupation which is the position of all Palestinian people adding that this does not justify his detention.
He also said that Sheikh Hasan Yusuf was released from jail after long years of administrative detention only to be re-arrested last September while on his way to the Aqsa Mosque to attend the Friday prayers. He was released five days later then he was arrested and placed in administrative detention without charge or trial.
Paulus called for the release of lawmaker Sheikh Hasan Yusuf and the other 26 lawmakers in Israeli detention.
