OCCUPIED JERUSALEM (PIC)– Israeli occupation policemen clashed with Palestinian demonstrators in Silwan suburb in occupied Jerusalem late Wednesday night.

Eyewitnesses said that confrontations started between Palestinians and Jewish settlers living in settlement outposts in the suburb after the settlers provoked those youths.

Israeli policemen and border police arrived to the scene and backed the settlers. Tension is still running high in the suburb.

Meanwhile Israeli occupation forces (IOF) severely beat up a Palestinian worker on Thursday morning while on his way to work in occupied Jerusalem from his hometown in Jenin.

Local sources said that Najib Qawasme was among a group of workers who were intercepted by the IOF soldiers and searched.

They added that the soldiers beat up Qawasme and broke his hand.

In another incident IOF troops bulldozed Palestinian cultivated land in Walaja village north of Bethlehem on Thursday.

Local sources said that a big number of soldiers escorted several bulldozers during the operation to the east of the village.

They said that the soldiers blocked entry of the land owners noting that tens of almond and olive trees were destroyed for the sake of allowing completion of a section of the separation wall.
