RAMALLAH (PIC)– The Israeli Ofer prison authority has quelled a group of Palestinian detainees at the pretext of protesting the repressive orders isolating them in solitary confinement.
The prison authority had ordered the isolation of Hassan Bani Namera from Salfit and four other captives from Ramallah district villages for a week and fined each 200 dollars besides depriving them of their relatives’ visits for four consecutive months.
The prisoners’ families have deplored the arbitrary penalties inflicted on their relatives and called for returning the detainees to their cells and ending the policy of mass punishment practiced by the repressive Ofer prison authority.
On the other hand the committee for supporting female prisoners in the Islamic Association of Palestinian Women organized a massive march in Nablus on Monday in solidarity with the Palestinian women detained in the Israeli prisons.
During the march the committee’s spokeswoman Nima Qatnani reviewed the suffering of those women in Israeli prisons and appreciated the Palestinian resistance factions for including the female prisoners in the expected swap deal with Israel.
The daughter of the captive Adnan Asfour also spoke about the detention of her father in the Israeli jails for several years pointing to the suffering experienced by her family as a result of her father’s absence.
She called on the international community and international human rights institutions to pay attention to Palestinian children who suffer enormously as a result of Israeli occupation’s arbitrary measures against their parents.
