Omani airspace remains closed to Israeli carriers

Oman has refused to open its airspace to Israeli commercial flights an Israeli newspaper revealed Thursday.

Yedioth Ahronoth affirmed that Israeli airlines have hit an unexpected obstacle in their quest for direct routes to Asia across the Arabian Peninsula after Oman refused to open its airspace to them.

According to the report Oman decided to keep its airspace closed to Israeli flights a week after the chief executive of Israel’s carrier El Al – Dina Ben-Tal – said that Tel Aviv would receive official permission from Muscat to use its airspace.

However Muscat has reportedly refused to open its airspace to Israeli commercial flights.
