Sunday 19-January-2020

Unexploded ordnance from previous Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip blew up on Saturday killing one Palestinian citizen and seriously wounding another.

According to the health ministry 36-year-old Mahdi Armilat died and one suffered serious injuries when suspicious objects believed to be Israeli bombs detonated at them in two separate incidents in Rafah area south of Gaza.

The Gaza Strip is currently littered with a large number of unexploded Israeli projectiles left over from different Israeli aerial and artillery attacks on Gaza.

Although Gaza police explosives teams work across the coastal territory to destroy unexploded ordnance and prevent safety threats to locals lack of proper equipment due to the Israeli siege make such efforts difficult.
