One Palestinian citizen was killed and 10 others were wounded on Sunday night when the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) opened fire at them during confrontations in Silat al-Harithiya town west of Jenin.
According to the Palestinian health ministry 17-year-old Mohamed Abu Salah died after he was shot directly in his head during clashes between young men and Israeli soldiers in the town.
10 others also suffered from bullet injuries while the IOF prevented Palestinian ambulances from entering the town to help and evacuate the wounded.
The clashes with local youths started after a large number of Israeli troops stormed Silat al-Harithiya.
Eyewitnesses said that resistance fighters also exchanged fire with the IOF and targeted their vehicles with explosive devices.
Earlier in the day the IOF blocked all the roads and entrances leading to the town before storming it.
Local sources said that Israeli troops with bulldozers stormed the town occupied the rooftops of some homes and raided the house of prisoner Mahmoud Jaradat adding that the IOF mapped Jaradat’s house before detonating it.
