The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Ramallah reported on Sunday that one death 82 new cases of the coronavirus and 194 cases of recovery were recorded during the past 24 hours.
The ministry confirmed in the daily epidemiological report of coronavirus that the recovery rate of the coronavirus reached 98.1 percent while the rate of active infections reached 1.8 percent and the death rate was 1.1% of all infections.
It stated that the new infections were distributed as follows: Qalqilya 1 Tulkarem 2 Jericho and Al-Aghwar 1 Jenin 2 Nablus 3 and the Gaza Strip 73.
The ministry pointed out that there are seven critically ill patients who have been admitted to intensive care units including one who has been placed on ventilators.
Regarding the vaccination campaign the total number of people who received the corona vaccine in the West Bank and Gaza Strip reached 482695 including 341475 who received the two doses of the vaccine according to the ministry’s statement.
Meanwhile the ministry announced that it had detected two cases of the Indian variant of the coronavirus “Delta” in two girls from Qalqilya and Salfit who arrived from the UAE.
It said that it had taken precautionary measures and samples were taken from contacts. Both girls were quarantined it added.
