Dozens of extremist Jewish settlers desecrated the Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Jerusalem on Tuesday morning and later in the afternoon.
According to al-Qastal News website at least 123 settlers entered the Mosque in groups through its Maghariba Gate and toured its courtyards under tight police guard.
A number of settlers escorted by police officers also gathered in the eastern area of the Mosque and embarked on performing Talmudic prayers.
Meanwhile the Israeli occupation police persisted in imposing restrictions on the entry of Muslim worshipers to the Mosque and harassed a number of them during their presence in its courtyards and the entrances leading to it.
In a related context Jerusalemite activists continued to urge their compatriots to intensify their presence in the Aqsa Mosque compound during the coming days.
They reiterated the importance of the intensive Muslim presence at the Mosque to protect it against Judaization and desecration attempts by settlers who plan to defile the holy site en masse during their upcoming Hanukkah holiday.
