Dozens of Jewish settlers defiled on Wednesday the holy Al-Aqsa Mosque under Israeli police protection.
The Islamic Endowments Department in Occupied Jerusalem reported that 56 settlers stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque and carried out a provocative tour before leaving from Bab Al-Silsila.
The Israeli occupation police provided full protection to the settlers during the storming as they performed the Talmudic rituals inside the Mosque according to the Endowment Department.
Meanwhile the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs condemned the Israeli police’s attacks on Jerusalemites in the Bab al-Amud area the Old City of Jerusalem and the 1948 occupied territories.
The Foreign Ministry held the Israeli occupation authorities responsible for the escalation on Tuesday after they allowed extremist groups to carry out the provocative flag march.
Daifallah Al-Fayez the official spokesman for the ministry called on the Israeli authorities to stop the attacks and to respect the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem.
He said that all these Israeli violations are unacceptable and condemned the escalatory actions that contradict all regional and international efforts to stabilize calm.
