Palestinian youths and resistance fighters clashed last night and at dawn Saturday with the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) in different areas of the West Bank and Jerusalem.
According to local sources resistance fighters opened fire at Israeli soldiers at the Dotan checkpoint in the southwest of Jenin City.
A group of young men also hurled homemade bombs at the IOF at the northern entrance of Azzun town east of Qalqilya.
In Nablus City marches were staged in its streets in solidarity with the Arin al-Osoud (Lions’ Den) armed group while chants of “Allahu Akbar” from homes rang out across the city.
Meanwhile the IOF kidnaped two young men from Deir al-Hatab village in eastern Nablus.
The IOF also closed the Awarta checkpoint in the southeast of Nablus and prevented Palestinian citizens from leaving or entering the city.
In east Jerusalem renewed clashes broke out between local youths and Israeli police forces in at-Tur town and the neighborhoods of Ein al-Luza and al-Hara al-Wusta in Silwan district.
Local youths reportedly set fire to a pole carrying Israeli security cameras in at-Tur while police forces intensively fired tear gas canisters at Mount of Olives Hotel. Several occupants of the hotel including foreign tourists and patients from Gaza suffered from their exposure to tear gas.
Last night violent clashes took place between Palestinian youths and Israeli police forces at the checkpoint near the Shuafat refugee camp in the northeast of Jerusalem.
