PA arrests three citizens in al-Khalil for political reasons

The Palestinian Authority (PA) security forces recently arrested three Palestinian citizens in al-Khalil for politically motivated reasons while refusing to release many others including university students who are being detained arbitrarily in West Bank jails.

According to local sources PA security soldiers kidnapped ex-detainee Osaid Adi from his home in Beit Ummar town after ransacking it on Friday night and another young man identified as Mohamed Atteett in the same town.

A teacher called Omar Selimiya was also kidnapped a few days ago after he left the school where he works in Idhna town according to Omamah news website.

Many political prisoners from Surif town in al-Khalil have already been in West Bank jails for days after a PA security apparatus launched recently an arrest campaign in the town and assaulted residents.

In addition two university students called Yousef al-Attrash and Obadeh Mar’iee have been on hunger strike since the first day of their detention.

PA security elements arrested Attrash about 12 days ago and Mar’iee six days ago because of their involvement in student activities at their universities.
