The Palestinian Authority (PA) prime minister’s office has appealed to international humanitarian and human rights groups to swiftly intervene to stop Israel from demolishing a Palestinian elementary school built by European countries in eastern Ramallah.
The school which is located in the Bedouin community of Ras at-Teen in eastern Ramallah is currently threatened with demolition after the Israeli occupation army’s civil administration was able to rescind a court order preventing it from razing the school a statement released by the premier’s office said on Thursday.
According to the statement the intended demolition targets the donor countries’ efforts to build Palestinian institutions and provide infrastructure that serves the Palestinian society.
The Ras at-Teen school was built recently with funding from France Finland Italy Luxembourg Ireland Spain Britain and Sweden and it provides elementary education (grades 1-6) for 50 child students.
