PA forces arrest 5 Palestinians summon 2 others

Thursday 24-August-2017

The PA security forces arrested five Palestinian youths and summoned two others for investigation while a political prisoner continues his hunger strike in PA jails in protest against his ill-treatment.

In Jericho the PA Preventive Service (PPS) arrested on Wednesday three youngsters including a university student and an ex-prisoner.

In Nablus two other youths were arrested over the past three days for unknown reasons including a brother of three prisoners in Israeli jails.

Meanwhile PPS summoned a teacher whose son is held in Israeli prisons for investigation.

The journalist Muthana al-Deik was also summoned for investigation after being detained Wednesday morning for several hours.

In Bethlehem PA authorities extended the arrest of an ex-prisoner for 48 hours pending investigation despite the fact that he went on hunger strike against his ill-treatment and continued torture.

Dozens of political prisoners are held in PA jails for their political affiliation amid torture allegations.
