PA Preventive Service (PPS) forces detained on Sunday the director of a local radio station in al-Khalil only three days after Israeli occupation authorities ordered its closure for the next six months.
Family sources affirmed that Ayman Qawasmeh head of the radio station was summoned Sunday afternoon for investigation before being detained by PA forces.
Qawasmeh declared an open hunger strike shortly after his unjustified arrest the sources added.
Last Thursday Israeli soldiers stormed al-Hurriya (Freedom) Media Company which runs the Manbar al-Hurriya radio station and confiscated its equipment before ordering it to be shut down for six months.
Israeli occupation authorities have led a crackdown campaign on Palestinian media and freedom of expression in recent months imprisoning journalists activists poets and novelists as well as hundreds of average citizens over social media activity.
