A ministerial delegation from the Palestinian Authority (PA) government is scheduled to arrive in the Gaza Strip on Sunday to prepare for a joint government session in the presence of an Egyptian security delegation.
Spokesman for the PA government Yousuf al-Mahmoud said that the PA delegation’s program will include a tour to follow up ministries’ work in the southern Gaza Strip.
According to Quds Press al-Mahmoud said that the weekly meeting of the PA government while will be held in Ramallah on Tuesday will witness the participation of members of the government in Gaza through the video conference. He explained that Sunday’s visit is aimed at preparing for this meeting.
The Palestinian official said that the presence of the PA government’s delegation and the Egyptian delegation in Gaza at the same time comes in favor of the reconciliation talks.
In another context the member of Hamas’s Political Bureau Mousa Abu Marzouk warned on Twitter that the Palestinian people are about to lose hope of achieving national reconciliation that would enable them to confront the conspiracies aimed at liquidating the Palestinian cause especially the “deal of the century”.
Political analyst Sharhabil al-Gharib said that Hamas is concerned about the future of national reconciliation especially as Fatah movement has evaded all previous reconciliation agreements the latest of which was the agreement signed in Cairo on 12th October 2017.
The Egyptian delegation’s visit to Gaza coincides with a Hamas delegation’s visit to Cairo which started on 9th February to discuss ways of alleviating the humanitarian crisis in Gaza as well as border security.
