GAZA (PIC)– Dr. Mohammed Al-Madhoun the director of PA premier Ismail Haneyya’s office has expressed his government’s resentment over the continued Lebanese army bombarding of the Nahr Al-Bared Palestinian refugee camp in northern Lebanon.
In this context Madhoun warned that a military solution to the crisis in the camp will take its toll on the lives of the 45000 Palestinian refugees living there adding “A military solution would have adverse repercussions on the Lebanese and the Palestinian arenas”.
Thus he called on the Lebanese army and the Lebanese government not to undermine the presence of tens of thousands of innocent refugees inside the camp amidst their insistence to resolve the crisis militarily.
“The refugees are being killed and displaced out of their homes before the eyes of the international community that per se replicates their agonies when they were driven out of their homes in occupied Palestine at the hands of armed Jewish gangs almost six decades ago” Madhoun highlighted.
Therefore the Lebanese government and parties as well as Arab countries and the international community are invited to immediately stop the ongoing battle in the camp and to advocate a peaceful solution to the crisis so as to spare lives of innocent refugees he underlined.
PFLP-GC theory:
For its part the PFLP-GC of Ahmad Jibril warned of a political and security program of the Lebanese government with the aim to expand “the circle of fire and destruction against Palestinian refugees in Lebanon”.
But the Front condemned attacks on the Lebanese army affirming that “martyrs of the Lebanese army are martyrs of Palestine”.
It also charged that the malicious plot of pushing of the army in this battle to jeopardize lives of tens of thousands of Palestinian refugees was a “conspiracy by the Lebanese political echelon led by [Waleed] Jumblat and [Sameer] Jaja against the army itself.”
In this context the Front called for a peaceful solution to the crisis in order to spare the refugees’ lives and to preserve dignity and prestige of the Lebanese army which it asserted “are very precious for the Palestinian people”.
Moreover the Front urged a thorough investigation into the nature of the Fatah Al-Islam group in order to unveil those who founded financed protected and sanctioned it.
But the Front was very open in accusing the Lebanese intellignece apparatus of allowing that group to transfer to Al-Bared refugee camp with their weapons after it was neutralized by the PFLP-GC in Burj Al-Barajneh and Shatilla refugee camps in the capital Beirut.
Supporting its allegations the front affirmed that it had submitted clear evidence on the role of the Lebanese internal security apparatuses in sanctioning and nourishing that group to Islamic and nationalist Lebanese parties.
Refugees always pay for others’ mistakes:
For its part the Palestinian society for human rights also urged calm in the Nahr Al-Bared and Ein Al-Hilweh refugee camps affirming that innocent refugees were paying for mistakes of others.
Sporadic clashes were registered in Ein Al-Hilweh (the biggest Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon) between a group calling itself Jund Al-Sham on the one hand and the Lebanese army on the other hand.
For his part Osama Hamdan Hamas representative in Lebanon has called for an immediate ceasefire in Nahr Al-Bared refugee camp especially when it was threatening the lives of innocent refugees.
He affirmed that Palestinian factions had addressed a message to Fatah Al-Islam asking it to cease firing and to evacuate the camp.
