Palestinian Authority minister of civil affairs Hussein al-Sheikh announced on Thursday that the Rafah border crossing between Egypt and Gaza will open in both directions for three days starting Saturday.
The official PA news agency WAFA quoted al-Sheikh as saying that the Egyptian authorities informed the Palestinian crossings authority that the terminal will be open on Saturday Sunday and Monday.
The Egyptian authorities had opened the crossing for three days this week during which hundreds of Palestinian citizens managed to cross into and out of the besieged enclave of Gaza after a long period of closure.
The crossing is opened for few days every year ever since the overthrow of the Egyptian president Mohammed Morsi in July 2013.
