PA security arrests citizens for carrying Hamas flags

Wednesday 12-April-2017

The Palestinian Authority (PA) security forces on Tuesday afternoon stormed homes and arrested six citizens east of Qalqilya city on a charge of carrying green Hamas flags during a recent reception held for a released prisoner.

Eyewitnesses told the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) that PA troops and officers aboard 10 patrol vehicles stormed Immatain town east of Qalqilya and broke into homes of some citizens who participated last Friday in the reception of ex-detainee Malik Ghanem.

Other citizens also received summonses for interrogation during the same campaign in the town.

Furthermore the PA security forces stormed a stationery shop in the town and confiscated a computer.

PA security elements including female intelligence personnel were reportedly searching and asking for Hamas flags during their raids on homes.

Palestinians in the West Bank are exposed to arrest if anyone of them was seen holding Hamas flags during occasions and events.
