PA security forces raid Jenin camp teargas residents

Thursday 3-November-2016

Several Palestinian citizens on Wednesday evening suffered from tear gas inhalation during skirmishes in Jenin refugee camp between young men and Palestinian Authority (PA) security forces.

Local sources told the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) that the violence broke out at the entrance to the camp and then spread to other neighborhoods.

According to the sources local young men blocked roads with burning tires to obstruct the entry of the security forces into the camp and then embarked on hurling stones at them.

Consequently the PA security men responded by intensively firing tear gas at the youths and nearby homes.

The intensity of tear gas fumes led many young protesters as well families and children inside homes to suffer greatly from breathing difficulty eye pain and other side effects.

Gunshots were also heard during the security campaign in the camp.

Recently the PA security forces raided West Bank refugee camps several times in order to capture what they call unruly elements; however their campaigns turned into violent clashes with local residents.
