PA security releases activist after long days of unjustified detention

Friday 24-February-2017

The Palestinian Authority (PA) preventive security apparatus on Thursday evening released an activist from Kafr Dan town west of Jenin city in the West Bank after 46 days of arbitrary detention with no guilt.

Local sources told the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) that the preventive security agency released a young man called Ahmed Salah after one and a half months in detention at the behest of the Palestinian mayor in Jericho.

The sources added that Salah was detained without leveling charges against him and was interrogated about claims saying that he had a role in supporting the resistance in the West Bank.

Sheikh Ahmed Salah the father of the released young man said he had already gone to the high court of justice in Ramallah and officially asked for the release of his son but the court did not pay any attention to his request.
