PFB hosts Arab gathering

The Palestinian Forum in Britain (PFB) hosted a large gathering of different Arab communities at its headquarters in London.

Hafez Al-Karmi chair of the PFB emphasized the importance of this event which focused on the suffering of the people of Iraq Syria and Palestine without turning a blind eye to the open wounds in Yemen and Libya and the entire area.

He also emphasized that Jerusalem remains the compass or the uniting vision of nations.

The Arab cuisine from its eastern to its western tastes was presented with many colorful dishes.

Stalls were also held to present different merchandise representing multiple cultures across the Arab world.

Representatives of the Arab communities including the former general guide of the Muslim brotherhood in Syria Ali Sadr Al-Din Al-Bayanouni and the Iraqi leading figure Osama Al-Takriti. Others included the Emirati educational expert Ahmad Al-Sheiba Al-Nuaimi human rights activist Ahmad Attar Algerian journalist Abdullah Anas and Raghad Al-Takriti a leading figure in the Muslim Association of Britain (MAB).

All speakers expressed their solidarity with the Palestinian people and the importance of prioritizing Palestine among the agenda of Arabs and Muslims as a whole.

Ahmad Al-Sheiba Al-Nuaimi from the Emirates condemned the participation of Emirati cyclists in the Jerusalem bike race occurring in the occupied West Bank.

Ibrahim Al-Ghanem Jordanian poet managed through the poetic phrases of freedom dignity and the unity emphasized in his poems to create a deep presence of these themes within the hearts of those present today.

The attendees were also in for some more entertainment with the children’s dabkah band “Yasmeen Al-Sham”. A band consisting of British born Palestinian children who have the cause printed on their hearts. The event was concluded with an engaging auction for artworks and folk-cultural items as well as a final dabkah performance by British Palestinian youth band “Fursaan”.
