Wednesday 12-April-2017

The Palestinian Federation of Industries (PFI) has appealed to the concerned international organizations to help reconstruct the industrial establishments that were destroyed during the last war on the Gaza Strip in order to enable many workers to restore their jobs.

“The stifling siege on the Gaza Strip has left more than 70 percent of workers in the industrial field without jobs not to mention the exposure of more than 1000 institutions and workshops to destruction over the past few years” member of the federation Mohamed Bseiso told a news conference on Wednesday in Gaza.

Bseiso also urged all national intuitions to save the industrial sector from collapsing further and contribute to finding solutions to the economic crisis in Gaza.

He stressed the need to reconstruct and rehabilitate the affected industrial buildings lift the ban imposed on the entry of raw materials for manufacturing purposes and facilitate the movement of businessmen and industrialists at Gaza border crossings.

He also called for supporting the national product and enabling it to compete in local and international markets and providing manufacturers with affordable electricity sources and alternative energy solutions to operate their factories and businesses.
