Thursday 1-March-2007

DAMASCUS (PIC)– The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – General Command has declared its acceptance to join the next PA national unity government to be chaired by the outgoing premier Ismail Haneyya.

The PFLP-GC politburo member Anwar Raja told PIC “Our participation in the unity government is based on our conviction that all Palestinian factions and forces should unite to break the siege imposed on our people and to re-organize the internal Palestinian home on the basis of insistence on constants and national rights.”

He said that the PLO and its institutions should be immediately re-organized.

Raja who is the director of central information in the Front said that the Palestinian political stand should be hardened to achieve the Palestinian people’s ambitions in defeating occupation and establishing the independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

The PFLP-GC rejects all foreign pressures on the PA government to accept the quartet’s conditions he said expressing conviction that the Haneyya government would not offer any concessions that would waste the Palestinian people’s hopes in liberation and return.

Raja asked the Arab and Muslim countries along with all freedom-loving peoples to support the Palestinian people in face of occupation and to seriously work to break the oppressive siege imposed on them.
