PFLP refuses to participate in National Council’s upcoming session

Thursday 19-April-2018

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) said it would not participate in the National Council’s session to be held by the Palestine Liberation Organization on April 30 in Ramallah city.

The PFLP stated its position in this regard after it ended its meetings with a delegation from Fatah faction in Cairo.

In Facebook remarks on Wednesday PFLP official Dulfiqar Suwairjo said the Front insists on not participating in the upcoming National Council’s session expressing fears that this session could be among attempts to pave the way for a political project consistent with what was recently tabled by the US administration.

Suwairjo stressed that the PFLP would not be part of any projects targeting the Palestinian cause or a party that contributes to entrenching the inter-Palestinian division.

He added that the PFLP would only take part in this session if it was a unifying meeting held away from the Israeli occupation’s grip.

He also called for necessarily holding the next session on the basis of a blanket political program confronting the US projects in the region and within a national strategy upholding the Palestinian constants.
