PHR: Israeli forces hinder aiding wounded Palestinians

Monday 6-March-2017

Physicians for Human Rights (PHR) charged Israeli occupation authorities with hindering assistance to wounded Palestinians. Israeli forces usually wait for 47 minutes on average before calling ambulances for the injured which puts their lives at real risk due to bleeding for a long time it pointed out.

Moshe Steinmetz correspondent of the Walla Israeli news website said that the report of the PHR listed eight cases of wounded Palestinians who were shot by Israeli soldiers mostly in Qalandiya refugee camp near Occupied Jerusalem and two in the West Bank cities of al-Bireh and Bethlehem.

The report quoted the Palestinian emergency units as saying that Israeli forces hinder the arrival of their crews to the wounded. They do not allow available Palestinian medics to evacuate the injured. They wait instead for Israeli ambulances to reach the scene of the incident it highlighted.

The report quoted lawyer Mohammad Abu Arisheh the PHR official in 1948 Occupied Palestine as calling the Israeli policy racist and violent in dealing with Palestinian medics and causing great harm to the health of the wounded Palestinians.
