The Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) has called on the Saudi Shura Council (consultative assembly) to urgently intervene with the competent authorities in the country to have all the Palestinian political detainees released.
This came in a letter sent on Tuesday by PLC acting speaker Ahmed Bahar to head of the Shura Council Abdullah bin Mohamed Al Sheikh.
Bahar reiterated in particular his call for the release of senior Hamas official Mohamed al-Khudari and the need to take into consideration his old age and health suffering.
He expressed the PLC’s aspiration to build advanced levels of join cooperation and relationship with the Saudi Shura Council in order to support the Palestinian cause in regional and international gatherings and events in light of the current challenges and events.
