A delegation from the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) visited Monday afternoon Father Manuel Musallam in his house in Beir Zeit.
The delegation included Jerusalemite deported MPs Ahmed Attoun and Mohammed Totah and MP for Tubas Ayman Daraghmeh.
During the visit the two parties stressed the urgent need to achieve a real national unity and to end the internal division.
The MPs hailed Father Musallam’s national attitudes and positions in support of Palestinian constants and legitimate rights.
Father Musallam for his part expressed his appreciation to the delegation’s visit stressing the importance of national unity between Muslims and Christians in Palestine.
Commenting on UNESCO’s recent decision he called for maintaining Jerusalem’s identity and supporting its people’s steadfastness.
Member states of the UNESCO on Thursday voted on a draft resolution that denied any Jewish connection to the Aqsa Mosque compound and the Western Wall (al-Buraq Wall) and their surrounding areas.
