The Palestinian Prisoner Center for Studies (PPCS) said that the Israeli occupation authority stepped up the arrest of Palestinian passengers at Beit Hanoun (Erez) crossing north of the Gaza Strip.
In a statement spokesman for the center Riyad al-Ashqar accused Israel’s security authorities for using Beit Hanoun crossing as a trap to kidnap Gaza citizens and patients exploiting their need to travel to the occupied territories for commercial or medical purposes.
Ashqar said that his center documented the arrest of three Palestinian citizens from Gaza at this crossing in less than one week.
The three detainees are Mohamed Katkat 44 Iyad Ba’lousa 42 and Hasan Shamiya 30.
The arrest of those citizens raised the number of detainees kidnapped at the crossing since the beginning of the current year to five citizens.
