The Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS) said that Palestinian prisoner Nasser Abu Hamid lost his ability to eat and his pains increased dramatically as a result of the continued spread of cancer through his body.
His weight also dropped significantly and he started to suffer from voice and swallowing difficulties because of the severe pains in his chest in particular according to PPS.
Following consecutive health complications prisoner Abu Hamid had been transferred multiple times from the Ramla prison infirmary to Assaf Harofeh Hospital in 1948 occupied Palestine (Israel) before Israeli doctors recently announced that his condition reached an irreversible stage and ordered his return to the jail to spend his last days there.
Despite his life-threatening health condition the Israeli occupation authority still refuses to release Abu Hamid.
A few months ago the prisoner suffered from a health problem in his lungs but the Israeli prison service delayed his transfer to hospital and medically neglected his issue before deciding to take him to the hospital.
Abu Hamid a 49-year-old from al-Am’ari refugee camp in Ramallah has been in jail since 2002 serving seven life sentences and an additional 50 years in prison. He has four brothers in jail who are also serving life sentences.
