The Palestinian Ministry of Health recorded on Sunday 7 deaths 221 new cases of the coronavirus and 640 recoveries during the past 24 hours.
Mai Al-Kailah the Palestinian Minister of Health confirmed in the daily epidemiological report of coronavirus that that two deaths were recorded in the West Bank: al-Khalil 1 Qalqilya 1 in addition to 5 deaths in the Gaza Strip.
Kailah noted that the new cases were distributed as follows: Qalqilya 7 Jenin 29 Nablus 24 Tulkarem 8 Tubas 4 Salfit 2 al-Khalil 12 Ramallah and Al-Bireh 8 and the Gaza Strip 127.
The new recovery cases were recorded according to the following: Qalqilya 10 Nablus 48 Tulkarem 26 Tubas 4 Salfit 4 al-Khalil 10 the suburbs of Jerusalem 2 Bethlehem 3 Jericho and Al Aghwar 1 and the Gaza Strip 532 the minister added.
Kailah said that the recovery rate of the coronavirus reached 97.7 percent while the rate of active infections reached 1.2 percent and the death rate was 1.1% of all infections.
She pointed out that there are 44 critically ill patients who have been admitted to intensive care units including 9 who have been placed on ventilators.
Regarding the vaccination campaign the minister noted that the total number of people who received the corona vaccine in the West Bank and Gaza Strip reached 283101 including 197327 who received the two doses of the vaccine.
