Palestine and Turkey sign agreement on women’s empowerment

Palestinian minister of women’s affairs Haifa al-Agha and Turkish minister of labor social services and family Zahra Seljuk signed a memorandum of understanding on Saturday to cooperate in the field of women’s empowerment.

The two ministers held a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of their participation in the 3rd international women and justice summit which kicked off on Friday in Istanbul.

Following the meeting Seljuk announced that she had signed with Agha a memorandum of understanding for cooperation between the two countries in the field of women’s empowerment.

She affirmed that the two ministries aim to cooperate with each other to combat all forms of discrimination against women strengthen their status and educational level and prevent their exposure to violence.

For her part the Palestinian minister thanked the Turkish government and Seljuk for signing the memorandum expressing hope that such cooperation would contribute to helping the Palestinian and Turkish women and addressing the problems they face.
