First deputy speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council Ahmad Bahar on Tuesday phoned the Lebanese parliament speaker Nabih Berri to express his appreciation of Lebanon’s unceasing support for the Palestinian cause.
Bahar stressed that the Arab and Muslim nations should exert every possible effort to overturn the US recent recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
Bahar and Berri agreed to organize a joint event soon in protest at the US Jerusalem move and biased policy.
For his part Berri affirmed that Lebanon will spare no effort to support the Palestinian rights calling on all parliaments around the world to pressure their governments to develop effective mechanisms that would force the US to backtrack on its decision which he described as “void” legally and religiously.
