Palestinian MPs visit China’s consulate in Ramallah

A delegation of Palestinian lawmakers on Tuesday visited China’s consulate in Ramallah city.

According to a Palestinian Information Center (PIC) reporter the delegation was comprised of MP Abdul-Jaber Fuqaha as well as Ahmed Attoun and Mohamed Totah who were banished a few years ago by Israel from Occupied Jerusalem.

They met with Chinese ambassador Chen Xingzhong and his attaché Hisham and talked about several issues in the Palestinian arena especially the education situation in Jerusalem

They highlighted Israel’s closure of Palestinian schools in the holy city and its attempts to impose its school calendar and curriculum on Palestinian students.

Israel’s anti-Adhan bill and its detention of Palestinian lawmakers including MP Samira Halaiqa were also among other topics that were discussed during the meeting.

Ambassador Xingzhong for his part talked about his country’s keenness on following up the developments of the Palestinian cause and emphasized the depth of relations between China and Palestine.

The ambassador discussed with the lawmakers the aid provided by the Chinese government for the Palestinians and stressed the importance of holding such meetings between the two sides.

Finally the delegation expressed its thanks to the ambassador for his kind welcome and to China over its supportive positions towards the Palestinian cause and rights.
