A Palestinian citizen was arrested three weeks ago for planning to carry out anti-occupation attacks in occupied Jerusalem Maariv Hebrew newspaper revealed Friday.
The paper claimed that Mohamed Abasi from Ras al-Amud in occupied Jerusalem planned to carry out a shooting attack against Israeli police and settlers in the Old City.
Maariv quoted sources in the Shin Bet as saying that Abasi is a supporter of Hamas Movement and had allegedly participated more than once in Molotov cocktail attacks against Israeli police vehicles.
Incitement posts were published on his Facebook account the sources claimed.
The Shin Bet pointed out that “Abasi’s arrest prevented a major threat throughout the city.”
