Haaretz newspaper has reported that the Israeli police arrested a Palestinian citizen in ‘Ar’ara town in the 1948 occupied Palestine for allegedly trampling on an Israeli flag on Friday during a demonstration in Haifa against the Israeli army’s crimes in Gaza border area.
The Israeli police said in a statement that an investigation was opened into an incident during Haifa demonstration in which protestors were seen throwing an Israeli flag to the ground and trampling on it.
In a video from Friday’s demonstration which the police used in the investigations a protester wearing a kufiyyeh is seen grabbing an Israeli flag being carried by another demonstrator and throwing it to the ground. Another demonstrator then tramples on the flag to the cheers of his comrades.
