Saturday 15-December-2018

A Palestinian resident of Shu’fat refugee camp in Occupied Jerusalem was injured on Friday after he was attacked by Israeli settlers near Kiryat Sefer settlement west of Ramallah city.

Nedal al-Faqih who works as a bus driver for an Israeli company said that two Israeli settlers at dawn Friday stopped his vehicle by their car and brutally assaulted him. The attack was caught in a video showing al-Faqih bleeding from his eye and face.

Al-Faqih talking about the incident said that as he arrived at the last bus stop in Kiryat Sefer at almost daybreak he was intercepted by two Israeli settlers who started to insult Arabs.

“I called the police and informed them of the incident” he said “During the conversation the settlers who were later joined by another group of Israelis got in the bus and assaulted me then fled the scene.”

Al-Faqih was transferred to Shaare Zedek Medical Center after he suffered bruises in his legs and back and fractures under his eye.

Palestinian bus drivers working for the same Israeli company demonstrated at their workplace and announced a two-day strike.

The drivers affirmed that they have repeatedly asked the company to ensure their safety from settler attacks during work without receiving any positive response.
