Palestinian conference launches anti-normalization campaign

Friday 8-September-2017

The Popular Conference for Palestinians Abroad has launched an international campaign to prevent the convening of an African-Israeli summit on 23rd October in Togo.

According to the organizers a social media movement will be launched on 15th September in three languages under the hashtag “Africa Rejects Normalization”.

According to a statement issued by the Conference the campaign is aimed at spreading awareness particularly among African masses of the serious implications of this summit on the Palestinian issue and working to thwart it.

The campaigners warned that Israel seeks to fill the Arab vacuum in the African scene in an attempt to win new allies in the region.

On the field level the campaign will include organizing protests in front of the Togolese embassies around the world and coordinating with African parties and organizations to hold conferences prior to the African-Israeli summit to pressure the African countries intending to attend the summit to reconsider their positions.
