Palestinian dies after PA security forces attack protesters in Nablus

Tuesday 20-September-2022

A Palestinian citizen died at dawn Tuesday after he succumbed to a serious bullet injury he sustained during his participation in a march organized in central Nablus last night to demand the release of two resistance fighters from Palestinian Authority (PA) jails.

According to local sources PA security forces opened fire at participants in a march organized in Nablus City critically wounding 53-year-old Firas Yaish in his head.

Later he was pronounced dead at a local hospital after doctors tried to save him. The victim is the brother of martyr Amjad Yaish who was killed by the Israeli occupation forces in 1987.

The protest march took place after PA security forces arrested last night two resistance fighters called Musab Shtayyeh and Amid Tabila who were described as most wanted by the occupation state.

The PA security forces usually carry out arrests in the West Bank as part of their security cooperation with the Israeli occupation army and intelligence.

Other citizens were reportedly injured during nighttime clashes between local youths and PA security forces in Nablus.
