National and Islamic factions in Ramallah and al-Bireh on Sunday called on Palestinian citizens to flock to Khan al-Ahmar and protest the Israeli government’s decision to demolish the village.
The Palestinian factions said in a statement that daily protests will be organized in Khan al-Ahmar this week against the forced displacement of the residents of the Bedouin village.
Israel’s Supreme Court has rejected all petitions filed against the demolition and ordered on Wednesday that the village inhabited by 190 Palestinians be evacuated within a week.
In another context the Palestinian factions called for the largest participation in a sit-in set to be held in Ramallah on Monday in protest at the US decision to halt funds to UNRWA.
They also asked international human right organizations to protect Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails against daily harassment and deliberate medical negligence.
