Palestinian fighter killed in Kissufim operation

GAZA (PIC)– A Palestinian Islamic Jihad activist was killed on Saturday at conclusion of a joint commando attack that targeted the Israeli Kissufim military outpost east of Deir Al-Balah in central Gaza Strip.

Four Palestinian resistance fighters affiliated with the Islamic Jihad and Fatah’s armed wings managed at noon Saturday to storm the heavily-guarded position. They engaged the soldiers and inflicted several casualties according to their joint communiqué.

Abu Ahmed a spokesman for the Quds Brigades the armed wing of the Jihad Movement said that three of the fighters managed to withdraw safely while the fourth remained entrenched in one of the positions detaining a soldier that he hoped to capture.

However IOF sources said that the soldiers killed a Palestinian fighter who was entrenched in one of the positions but claimed that none of its soldiers was captured or injured during the operation.

Sources in Quds Brigades identified the martyr as Mohammed Khalil Al-Ja’bari 21.

For its part the Qassam Brigades the armed wing of Hamas took the credit for firing 8 mortar shells at the same IOF outpost during the attack.

Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum blessed the operation code-named “Hot Summer” saying it was a natural retaliation to the IOF crimes. He underlined that IOF troops repeatedly storm border areas in Gaza assassinate activists arrest citizens flatten homes and bulldoze cultivated land lots.
