Tuesday 23-January-2007

GAZA (PIC)– Palestinian resistance fighter Zeyyad Abu Saada 22 of Khan Younis city south of Gaza Strip has died of wounds he sustained in clashes with IOF troops last September in the city’s Khuza’a town.

The Quds Brigades armed wing of the Islamic Jihad mourned that fighter adding that he was one of the Brigades’ field commanders in Khan Younis and that he sustained the bullet wounds while defending his country against an IOF troops’ incursion into the town four months ago.

In Nablus city Palestinian resistance fighters at dawn Tuesday detonated planted roadside bomb in an Israeli military vehicle carrying a number of Israeli soldiers.

An offshoot of the Aqsa Martyrs Brigades the armed wing of Fatah claimed responsibility for the armed attack adding in a military communiqué it issued that the attack was in retaliation to persistent IOF troops’ aggressions and incursions in the West Bank.

Meanwhile vandal armed groups in Gaza city bombed Al-Waha resort Park west of the city inflicting heavy damage on it; but no casualties were reported.

The resort’s manager Bashir Al-Thari revealed that around 30 heavily armed men raided the place and bombed it before kidnapping three workers. The workers were released hours later.

The attack came just few hours before Palestinian factions meet in a comprehensive national dialogue in Gaza city that was paved by the successful meeting between PA chief Mahmoud Abbas and Hamas’ supreme leader Khaled Mishaal in the Syrian capital Damascus Sunday night. On Monday PA premier Ismael Haneyya announced that the comprehensive dialogue will kick off Tuesday.

In the aftermath of a number of attacks on Hamas’ offices in the West Bank and the bombing of Al-Arabeyya satellite TV channel Monday Hamas Movement urged Abbas to bridle armed groups affiliated with his Fatah faction that aim at flaring up the Palestinian arena anew and suspected to be behind the attacks.
