Palestinian human bomber arrested in Tel Aviv

Wednesday 21-February-2007

JENIN (PIC)– Israeli occupation police last night arrested a Palestinian in Reshion Letzion near Tel Aviv on suspicion of planning a human bombing operation according to a police report.

The report said that the Palestinian whose name was not revealed is a resident of a Jenin village and was planning to blow himself up in Tel Aviv with an explosive belt that was confiscated in Bat Yam.

For his part a spokesman for the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement said that the Palestinian was one of its members and that he was from the Jalbun village east of Jenin city.

The spokesman affirmed that the arrested activist was planning the raid in retaliation to the Israeli occupation’s crimes against the Palestinian people and as a warning message to the Hebrew state and the USA after the recent threats against Jihad secretary general Ramadan Shallah.

He revealed that the operation targeted a shop in Tel Hasharon explaining that it was part of the Quds Brigades (the armed wing) series of operations codenamed “melting ice” that started with the bombing in Eilat late last month.

IOF troops sealed off the entire city of Jenin on Tuesday and installed 15 roadblocks at its entrances at the pretext of blocking operations which the Quds Brigades vowed to carry out.
