The Israeli prison authorities sent back the Palestinian prisoner Khalil Awawdeh who has been on hunger strike for 64 days to Ramla prison a few days after being transferred to the Israeli Asaf Harofeh hospital after he suffered a serious health deterioration.
The Palestinian Prisoners Society pointed out that Awawdeh started suffered different health problems including severe headaches and fatigue breathing and heart problems and a sharp weight loss.
Despite his worsening health the Israeli prison service refuses to end Awawdeh’s illegal detention and release him.
Awawedeh said in a letter he sent recently to his family through PPS that doctors at the Ramla jail infirmary threatened not to transfer him again to an Israeli civilian hospital unless he lost his consciousness during his hunger strike.
Awawdeh a father of four children is from Idhna town in al-Khalil. He was kidnaped by the Israeli occupation forces on December 27 2021.
