Mahmoud Iyad Banat a one-year-old infant from Al-Arroub camp north of al-Khalil almost lost his eye after Jewish settlers threw stones at Palestinian citizens’ cars on the main road connecting the Bethlehem and al-Khalil provinces which is known as Street (60).
Eyewitnesses reported that settlers from the Daniel settlement which is established on Palestinian lands threw stones at Palestinian citizens’ cars on Friday.
The infant was injured in the eye after the stones broke the side window glass of the vehicle his family was traveling in.
Several passing cars were also damaged by the Israeli settlers’ assault. The settlers also performed provocative rituals and shouted profanity and “Death to the Arabs”.
Jewish settlers have escalated their attacks on Palestinian citizens in various areas of the West Bank focusing on roads between Palestinian cities towns and villages.
The Israeli occupation army controls most of the external roads between Palestinian cities and towns and settler attacks take place under the protection of the Israeli forces.
