Palestinian injured in hit-and-run by Jewish settler in al-Khalil

Thursday 29-October-2020

A Palestinian citizen was slightly injured on Wednesday when a Jewish settler driving at high speed rammed into him on a road near Rifa’iya village in the south of al-Khalil.

According to local official Fuaad al-Amour 41-year-old Jibril al-Amour was driving a horse-drawn cart on a road near the village when a Jewish settler rammed his car into him and fled the scene.

The collision destroyed the cart and slightly injured Amour while the horse suffered serious fractures.

Incidents of terrorism and violence by extremist Jewish settlers against Palestinians and their property are a daily occurrence throughout the West Bank.

However Israeli law enforcement authorities exhibit extreme incompetence in addressing such widespread occurrence of settlers’ crimes.

The vast majority of investigation files regarding harm to Palestinians and their property are closed due to deliberate police failure to investigate properly. The deficiencies and flaws in the work of the Israeli police are clearly noticed at every stage of an investigation when the victim is a Palestinian citizen.
