A Palestinian citizen was injured and others were arrested on Saturday after a horde of extremist settlers escorted by soldiers assaulted local shepherds in the northern Jordan Valley.
According to local official Moataz Bisharat about 60 settlers from the violent hilltop youth group stormed Umm al-Quba area in the northern Jordan Valley physically attacked Palestinian shepherds and hurled stones at them.
One citizen identified as Ahmed Awad suffered injuries in the attack before soldiers arrested him.
Bisharat said that the Israeli occupation forces intervened to protect the settlers and arrested Awad and four shepherds.
