Palestinian killed by Israeli gunfire near Ramallah

A Palestinian was killed by Israeli gunfire on Thursday afternoon after allegedly attempting to stab an Israeli soldier in the central occupied West Bank district of Ramallah.

Palestinian Health Ministry affirmed in a brief statement that an unidentified young man was killed after Israeli soldiers opened fire at him near Ofra settlement illegally built north of Ramallah.

Israeli media sources claimed that a Palestinian “armed with a knife attempted to stab an Israeli soldier guarding a bus stop” near Ofra.

Following the incident Israeli forces prevented Palestinian ambulances from reaching the scene or to transfer the Palestinian young man to hospital.

RAMALLAH (PIC)– The Palestinian Health Ministry declared that a Palestinian young man was shot and killed during violent clashes that broke out west of Ramallah on Friday between Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) and local youths.

Lafi Yusif Awad 22 was brought to the Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah in critical condition to be then pronounced dead the ministry affirmed.

Awad was shot by Israeli forces in the left side of his abdomen when violent clashes erupted in Badras village.

The clashes broke out when IOF violently suppressed a peaceful march against settlement construction. Several others were injured the ministry added.

Hours before another Palestinian youth was killed by Israeli gunfire during clashes that erupted across the West Bank.

The new victims bring the total number of Palestinians killed since the beginning of the Jerusalem Intifada on October 1 to 86 including 18 children and four women.

Meanwhile at least 205 Palestinians were shot and injured during Friday clashes across the West Bank the Red Crescent said.

34 Palestinians were shot with live fire; while 39 others were shot with rubber-coated steel bullets. A further 131 Palestinians choked on tear gas during the clashes.
