RAFAH (PIC)– A 20-year-old Palestinian youth was killed and three others went missing after a tunnel used for smuggling between Egypt and Gaza Strip collapsed on Monday.
Medical sources reported that Khaled Abu Azra was instantly killed in the collapse while two others were injured and three not yet found.
Civil squad teams and volunteers are searching for the three missing citizens the sources added.
Victims of the tunnels along the Egyptian-Palestinian borders south of Rafah city had exceeded 100 over the past three years.
Inhabitants of Gaza Strip are forced to dig and use tunnels to smuggle life necessities after Israel imposed tight blockade on the enclave and opened crossings for commercial goods only occasionally.
