Palestinian minors release affidavits on harsh beating by Israel army

Tuesday 9-October-2018

Testimonies released by Palestinian minors provided evidence of aggressive beating and violent torture by Israeli officers during arrest sweeps launched across the occupied Palestinian territories.

This came in affidavits by 17-year-olds Mahdi Abu Maria and Wahid Abu Maria along with Kusay Abu Maria and Rakan Abu Maria both aged 16.

The four minors said they had been subjected to aggressive beating by Israeli soldiers prior to their detention on September 14 2018.

They said Israeli soldiers beat them using their hands boots and rifle butts until they reached a detention center in Kiryat Arba illegal settlement.

The four minors sustained painful bruises. One of them said an investigator kept shouting at him in such a remarkably frenzied manner all the way through the interrogation procedure so as to force confession.

Ahmad Dali 15 also said Israeli soldiers heavily beat him up as he passed through a tension-stricken area. He was arrested on September 21 2018.

At the same time 17-year-old Mohamed al-Titi detained since September 18 sustained bruises after he was hit by Israeli officers all over his body.

According to the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society 95% of Palestinian detainees endure psycho-physical torture during and after the detention phase.
