A Palestinian delegation from the Change and ReformParliamentary Bloc in the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) arrived atSouth Africa on Wednesday at the invitation of the African National Congress.
The delegation is led by Mahmoud al-Zahhar andincludes MPs Nabil Abu-Ras Mohamed Faraj al-Ghul and Musheer al-Masri.
The Palestinian parliamentarians were received bythe secretary of the international relations and cooperation in the Parliamentof South Africa and they intend to hold meetings with the president of theAfrican National Congress and officials from African political parties NGOsand other institutions.
The visit aims at mobilizing international supportfor the Palestinian people highlighting the dire humanitarian conditions thePalestinians are enduring under occupation and siege and briefing the SouthAfrican officials on the latest developments in the Palestinian arena.
Last week the parliamentary delegation started aninternational tour to enhance ties with different countries around the world.
